Symptoms:BAGG's that have a Comware switch as a downlink device do not experience any issues.BAGG's that have servers downlinked do not reach an UP state (BAGG 201-BAGG206).Root cause:The following command:“link-aggregation lacp traffic-redirect-notification enable”Link-aggregation traffic redirection prevents traffic interruption. When you shut down a selected port in an aggregation group, this feature redirects traffic to other selected ports in that specific group. When you restart an IRF member device that contains selected ports, this feature redirects traffic to other IRF member devices that are part of that group. On the earlier builds of release code, LACP will only send LACP frame with the private TLV to the peer asking that peer to redirect traffic to another selected port before that interface goes down (manually via the shutdown command or if the remote slot is rebooted). Thus there was no effect on the LACP negotiation. In the new code (F2426), LACP will send a LACP frame with the private TLV. However, some third-party peer devices that don’t support this feature will result in LACP negotiation failing. This private TLV is now generated when the command:“link-aggregation lacp traffic-redirect-notification enable” has been executed. In this customer case, there is a mixed environment of devices (Comware switches and servers) that do require the fine tuning of the BAGG's to reflect support of the feature.Link-aggregation failure on BAGG's connected to Servers following the upgrade from Version 2311P06 to Version F2426.
Switches that are part of the 5900-5920 Family platform are affected due to the change in scope of a the command:“link-aggregation lacp traffic-redirect-notification enable” is now capable of being assigned on a "per" Bridge-aggregation group basis as well as on a global basis.
In this case, the following configuration changes are required:1. At the system level, the following command should be executed:"undo link-aggregation lacp traffic-redirect-notification enable"2. On BAGG’s that have Comware switches as the down link execute the command:"link-aggregation lacp traffic-redirect-notification enable"3. On BAGG's that have the servers as the down link device there are no configuration changes required unless this feature is supported by those devices.4. After modification: Link-aggregation traffic redirection can be enabled in Layer 2 and Layer 3 aggregate interface views.Global link-aggregation traffic redirection settings take effect on all aggregation groups. A link aggregation group preferentially uses the group-specific link-aggregation traffic redirection settings. If group-specific link-aggregation traffic redirection is not configured, the group uses the global link-aggregation traffic redirection settings.Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you enable link-aggregation traffic redirection on aggregate interfaces. If you enable this feature globally, communication with a third-party peer device might be affected if the peer is not compatible with this feature.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
