On any HPE platform running any Linux Operating System, and configured with any of the HPE Broadcom NetXtreme-E network adapters listed in the Scope section below, the installation of the Broadcom RoCE Library (libbnxt_re) may fail due to an unresolved package dependency.During the installation of the Broadcom RoCE Library package, the following error message may be displayed:[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -ivh libbnxt_re-238.1.113.0-rhel9u8.x86_64.rpmwarning: libbnxt_re-238.1.113.0-rhel9u8.x86_64.rpm: Header V4 RSA/SHA384 Signature, key ID 74c3a4a2: NOKEYerror: Failed dependencies:pkgconfig(libibverbs) is needed by libbnxt_re-238.1.113.0-rhel9u8.x86_64As a result, the Broadcom RoCE Library (libbnxt_re) installation cannot be completed until the required dependency is resolved.Starting with Broadcom RoCE Library version .238, the package introduces a dependency on the pkgconfig (libibverbs). On supported Linux operating systems, this virtual package is provided by the rdma-core-devel package.

To successfully install the Broadcom RoCE Library (libbnxt_re), ensure that the inbox rdma-core-devel package of the Operating System is installed before installing the Broadcom RoCE Library package.For example:#rpm -qa | grep rdma-core-develIf the package is not installed, install rdma-core-devel from the Operating System distribution media or the appropriate Linux software repository, and retry the Broadcom RoCE Library installation.
