There is a serious issue if you attempt to upgrade an HP FlexFabric 5900CP-48XG-4QSFP+ Switch (JG838A) from software version R2307 directly to R2311P04. This upgrade will result in the unit failing to boot-up.
Only a single switch type is impacted by this issue, but it comes in these forms:HP FlexFabric 5900CP-48XG-4QSFP Switch (JG838A).HP 5900CP-48XG-4QSFP TAA (JH036A). This is the TAA version of the same switch.
Version R2311P05 fixes this issue and HP recommends upgrading to software R2311P05 in preference to R2311P04.Note: It is possible to upgrade safely to R2311P04 by first upgrading to an interim release such as R2308P01. This only affects systems that are currently running R2307. If R2307 is being run, please upgrade to an intermediate version prior to upgrading to R2311P04.HP regrets any inconvenience this issue may have caused.
