An HP Moonshot 1500 Chassis running HP Moonshot 1500 Chassis Firmware Version 4.0 (earlier revisions are not affected by this issue) may report input power consumption incorrectly. Power capping remains unaffected.Power readings are accurate approximately 99 percent of the time. However, extreme high or low power consumption could potentially be reported in systems where any power supply slot is unoccupied or where the power draw exceeds the total power capacity of the chassis. Systems with all four power supply slots installed are not affected by this issue.Configurations with three power supplies installed and where power supply slot 1 is occupied are unlikely to exhibit the behavior. This occurs most frequently when both Power Supply 1 (PS1) is uninstalled AND 2 or more power supplies arenotinstalled in slots 2, 3, and 4.
Any HP Moonshot 1500 Chassis with HP Moonshot 1500 Chassis Firmware Version 4.0.
A future HP Moonshot 1500 Chassis Firmware version will address this issue to ensure proper power reporting. As a workaround, ensure that power supply slots 1, 2, 3, and 4 are occupied. If this is not possible, then slots 1, 2, and 3 should be occupied. This advisory will be updated when additional information becomes available.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HP Subscriber's Choice.
