On a ProLiant server configured with an HP KVM Server Console Switch, the saved configuration file contains only NTP Server Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDNs). When restoring the settings and then restoring the configuration file from a USB drive, it will show as successful and the device will reboot. However, only two NTP Server FQDNs are restored from the configuration file. IP Address, Subnet Mask, default GW and Host Name will not be restored. This issue occurs when saving and importing the KVM configuration file including IP address, SubNet mask, default GW, NTP server FQDNs and hostname in a configuration file on a USB drive. It is not possible to restore the same configuration file on different KVMs.
Any ProLiant server connected to an HP KVM Console Server and any of the following running Firmware Version 1.10.9 or Firmware Version 1.10.17:Console Switch G2HP 0x2x16 KVM Server Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media CAC Software - AF618AHP 0x2x32 KVM Server Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media CAC Software - AF619AHP IP Console Switch G2HP 1x1Ex8 KVM IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media CAC Software - AF620AHP 2x1Ex16 KVM IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media CAC Software - AF621AHP 4x1Ex32 KVM IP Console Switch G2 with Virtual Media CAC Software - AF622A
The HP KVM Server Console Switch is functioning as designed.TheSave Configurationfeature was implemented to allow an easier method of mass deployment of KVMs. The global configuration information is saved but not the unique configuration information, since it can only be used by a single appliance. If multiple appliances are configured with the same IP Address, then communication with the appliance will fail. It is part of the IP behavior to shut down interfaces that have a duplicate IP Address. All of the global configuration will be saved; i.e.,, LDAP, NTP, SNMP Traps, DNS, etc.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HP Subscriber's Choice.
