On an HP R1500 G3 UPS configured with an HP Network Module Card (NMC), if the "Set Time Manually" radio button in the NMC Time settings window is selected, the time/date will default to 1970/01/01 if the UPS and NMC are shut down then restarted. This occurs because the R1500 G3 UPS does not have a real time clock (RTC) and the NMC normally receives the initial clock time after a restart from the UPS. The lack of RTC and the use of the manual setting require a manual reset of the time after each power-cycle. The R1500 G3 UPS does not provide auxiliary or standby power to the Network Module while the UPS is powered off.Note:This does not occur when using the "Set Time Manually" radio button on an HP R3000 G2, R5000, or R7000 UPS.
Any HP R1500 G3 UPS configured with a Network Module and using the "Set Time Manually" feature.
If using the "Set Time Manually" radio button, the time/date will require a manual reset after each power-cycle.To avoid this issue, use either the default "Accept Automatic Update from HPPP" setting or the "Synchronize with NTP Server" setting radio buttons.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HP Subscriber's Choice.
