If the "User Password" function is enabled on an HP R5000 UPS or HP R7000 UPS, the front panel display cannot be accessed. After the password function is enabled, the display menu requires that a password be entered before access is granted. The default password is "USER" and cannot be changed. However, this password information was not included in Edition 1 of theHP UPS R5000 User GuideandHP UPS R7000 User Guide.

To access the UPS front panel, enter the default password "USER." To disable or enable the password function, access the display menu by selecting "Settings" > "User Password" and then enter the default password "USER."
