An HP Intelligent Power Distribution Unit (iPDU) or HP ProLiant SL Advanced Power Manager (APM) may report erroneous high metering data for some or all of the IEC C13 outlets of a connected Intelligent Extension Bar.For example, power consumption of 4710 watts may be continually reported for some or all of the outlets. This is a rare condition that occurs when a sudden change in power resets one or both metering chips and resets protocol setup initialization parameters. This can sometimes be triggered by the following events:Switching the Intelligent Extension Bar outlet relays on/off.Hot plugging of IEC C13 devices to and from the Intelligent Extension bar outlets.
Any HP Intelligent Power Distribution Units (iPDU) with Firmware Version 1.0.09.09 or 1.1.02.09 and configured with Intelligent Extension Bars (Option Part Number AF529A).
To prevent erroneous high metering data for the Intelligent Extension Bar outlets, upgrade to HP Intelligent Power Distribution Unit (iPDU) Firmware Version 1.2 (or later), which is available for download at the following URL:http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/software/hard-firmware.htmlTo clear the erroneous data, perform a soft reset of the Intelligent Extension Bar firmware by performing the following steps:Press the Reset button on the Intelligent Extension Bar you want to reset. The Reset button is located next to the input power cord.Wait for the Intelligent Extension Bar to reboot.Note:When the Reset button is pressed, power to the managed outlets is maintained. Management functionality is momentarily lost while the Intelligent Extension Bar resets. For additional information and instructions, refer to theHP Intelligent Power Distribution Unit User Guide, available at the following URL:https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c02468249RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HP Subscriber's Choice.
