HP strongly recommends performing this required action at the customer's earliest possible convenience. Neglecting to perform the required action could result in the potential for one or more of the failure symptoms listed below to occur. By disregarding this notification and not performing the recommended resolution, the customer accepts the risk of incurring future UPS failures.HP has identified a potential, yet extremely rare issue with Compaq R3000 XR Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) manufactured between September 2000 and February 2001. This issue is extremely rare; however, if it does occur, the UPS fails and becomes inoperable, resulting in loss of electrical output to all load segments. In addition, this event may be accompanied by overheating. When this occurs, UPS replacement is required.Potentially affected UPS models were manufactured between September 2000 and February 2001 with a serial number range of TS38XXXXXX through TT09XXXXXX.Note:UPS serial numbers are located on the metal battery bracket behind the front bezel of the unit, as well as on the top panel of the UPS directly above the power receptacles.Figure 1: Serial Number location (Front Panel).Figure 2: Serial Number location (Top Panel).
