When using HP Power Manager Version 4.0, Version 4.1, or Version 4.2 to manage an HP UPS R1500 XR, the UPS may not power on one of the load segments during a scheduled restart. As a result, servers connected to the load segment will not restart (boot).This is a rare occurrence that can be observed in the following example:Load Segment 1 ==> Management ServerIf the management server using HP Power Manager is connected to Load Segment 1 and Load Segment 1 does not power on, then the Scheduled Restart/ Shut Down process will halt completely.Load Segment 2 ==> Agent ServerIf the agent server connected to Load Segment 2 does not power on, then if left alone, power to the load segment will return on the next scheduled restart.
Any HP UPS R1500 XR being managed by HP Power Manager Version 4.0, Version 4.1, or Version 4.2.
A future version of HP Power Manager Version will ensure that all load segments power on properly during a scheduled restart.To restore power to both load segments, gracefully shutdown any servers that are connected to a powered load segment and then power-cycle the UPS.
