On HPE Synergy Gen10 Compute Modules equipped with 3530c Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), the Fibre Channel Driver Kit (version 12.8.528.64) for HPE Synergy Emulex HBAs for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP5 will not be installed when deployed through Smart Update Manager (SUM), OneView (OV), or HPE Compute Ops Management (COM). This is because the SY-2025.07.02 HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) does not contain the driver for the 3530c HBA.
This issue affects any HPE Synergy Gen10 Compute Modules configured with the following fibre channel adapter:HPE Synergy 3530C 16Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus AdapterVersions affected:HPE Synergy Service Pack (version SY-2025.07.02)HPE OneView (any version)Smart Update Manager (any version)HPE Compute Ops Management (any version)
Refer to the workaround below as there are currently no plans to resolve this issue.As a workaround, the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Service Pack 5 Fibre Channel Driver Kit for HPE Synergy Emulex Host Bus Adapters (version 12.8.528.64) can be downloaded from theHPE Support Center website.Installation/Upgrade Instructions:Log in as the system administrator (root) to SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP5 operating system.Install or upgrade the driver using the following command:# rpm -Uvh elx-lpfc-<kerneltype><version>.<OSupdate>.x86_64.rpm Example: # rpm -Uvh elx-lpfc-kmp-default-12.8.528.39_k5.14.21_150400.22-1.sles15sp4.x86_64.rpmReboot the server after a successful installation to apply the changes.The driver component is also available in the following versions of the HPE Synergy Service Packs:SY-2025.05.01SY-2024.11.02SY-2024.11.01SY-2024.07.03SY-2024.07.02SY-2024.07.01
