On various HPE Intel-based ProLiant DL or ML-Series Gen11 or HPE Synergy Gen11 servers running a System ROM prior to version 2.80, the system could potentially stop responding during normal operation.Symptoms that may be observed that indicate this issue are:Remote sessions disconnectThe console will freeze and keyboard / mouse pointer will be unusablePings to the NIC will fail in most configurationsThe iLO power button may or may not be grayed outNote: This is a random and infrequent event. To determine if the system unresponsiveness is due to this issue:Once a server becomes unresponsive, attempt to generate a system crash using the iLO NMI feature as shown in the screenshots below.Attempt the NMI from the iLO while it is still in the unresponsive state. If the server fails to crash, and requires a cold boot to regain control, this issue has occurred. If the NMI has no effect, then install the System ROM 2.80 and SPS 6.1.4.215.0 as indicated below, and then cold boot normally. If it crashes after attempting the NMI, send the crash dump to your OS vendor for additional information, as it is not related to this issue.
Any Intel-based ProLiant DL, DX or ML-series Gen11 server, Alletra 41x0, or Synergy Compute Gen11 running a System ROM prior to 2.80 could potentially be affected.
