For any HPE Synergy 480 Gen11, or HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute modules running a Windows Server Operating System and configured with the HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet adapter, Windows Server will report incorrect VMQ values after configuring HPE OneView and the Hyper-V virtual switch/virtual NIC VMQ related-settings.For any Virtual Machine (VM), HPE recommends not assigning/allocating more than 8 VMQs per port.Additionally, if the option "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter" is enabled when configuring the Hyper-V virtual switch, one more VMQ will be allocated. For example: if 8 VMQ virtual NICs are created for a VM, plus enabling "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter", Windows Server will report 9 VMQs per port (8+1).If the option "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter" is enabled, then up to 7 VMQ virtual NICs should be created for a VM. As a result, Windows Server will report 8 VMQs per port (7+1).Additional information regarding VMQ can be found at the link below.Introduction to NDIS Virtual Machine Queue (VMQ)Disclaimer:One or more of the above links redirects outside the HPE website.
