For any Mellanox SH2200 Switch Modules for HPE Synergy, the downlink/uplink port configuration, partner switch configuration, and all other configurations will be cleared after moving the switch to another bay located in the same Synergy frame, or moving the switch to a different Synergy frame. As a result, a network outage may occur.This behavior is expected and is designed to avoid a configuration mismatch between the moved switch and the partner switch.
In the scenario described above, any Mellanox SH2200 Switch Modules for HPE Synergy running any firmware version.
To avoid this issue and if the switch needs to be moved to a different bay, perform the following steps:Schedule a maintenance window.Save the switch configuration.Move the switch to the desired Synergy frame bay.Configure basic IP settings. Refer to the "Configuring the Switch for the First Time" section of the user guide provided in the Resolution section.Restore the configuration.If this issue has already occurred andif a saved configuration file exists, perform the following steps:Configure basic IP settings.
