On any HPE Synergy Compute Modules running VMware ESXi 7.0 (or later), HPE OneView for VMware vCenter will fail to perform the updates when using the following:HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.01VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM)HPE Hardware Support Manager (HSM) plug-inThis issue occurs due to a vLCM metadata filename used to register the HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.01.
In the scenario described above, any Synergy Compute Modules running VMware ESXi 7.0 (or later), using HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.01 and HPE OneView for VMware vCenter.
This issue will be resolved in the HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.02 (or later), scheduled to be released sometime in February 2021.Depending on the upcoming HPE Synergy Custom SPP releases, consider the following update strategies:HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.02:Includes the same components as HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.01.01; however, also includes the solution for the vLCM issue described above. This SPP is supported with HPE OneView 5.40 (or later).HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.02.01:Includes the solution for the vLCM issue described above. Additionally, this SPP contains significant Virtual Connect module enhancements in the areas of resiliency, support, and customer requested features.Once available, HPE encourages customers to adopt the HPE Synergy Custom SPP 2021.02.01, in order to benefit from these enhancements.
