Document VersionRelease DateDetails35/26/2020Resolution updated. Issue has been addressed in firmware version 1.6.0 for the HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module.11/28/2020Original Document Release. When performing a Single Enclosure Dual Unit Stacking (SEDUS) to a Multi Enclosure Dual Unit Stacking (MEDUS) grow, HPE OneView loses SNMP connectivity to the active HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy, which becomes unresponsive. The issue may occur when there exists SNMP monitoring on the HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy (such as running SNMP monitoring tools to continuously perform a scan topology operation) and performing a grow operation concurrently. During this activity, HPE OneView sends SNMP requests to the HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy to perform the grow operations. These SNMP requests may eventually fail to respond due to SNMP thread being busy processing numerous SNMP requests from the monitoring tool and HPE OneView. The issue may be seen when attempting to access the module via "netop" read only, or via root access challenge key and the attempted access returns "Exceeding max CLI sessions, Connection closed by foreign host". In some scenarios, the request may halt for an extended period of time (up to 24 hours).
Any HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy when implementing a single to multi-frame grow operation and the deployment has an SNMP tool monitoring the module(s).
