Document VersionRelease DateDetails211/08/2019Updated the Resolution with the permanent fix, OneView 5.0 (or later).103/14/2019Original Document Release.During a firmware update with a server profile using the "Firmware and OS Drivers using Smart Update Tools" option, HPE OneView will enter a "Waiting for Smart Update Tools" state and will stay at this point in the process:The Smart Update Tools (SUT) will be unable to proceed with the firmware update and OneView will remain in a "Waiting for SUT" state in the server profile. This may occur when OneView misses an iLO RESTful API event and overwrites the baseline URI with a default value. This scenario is rare because HPE Integrated Lights-Out 4 or 5 (iLO) will make multiple attempts to deliver these to OneView.
Any HPE Gen8 or Gen9 servers when the Smart Update Tools (SUT) option is selected in the server profile, with any Smart Update Tools (SUT) version and Integrated Lights-Out 4 (iLO 4) or iLO 5 that are used and managed by HPE OneView.
This issue is addressed by upgrading to HPE OneView 5.0 (or later) available from this URL:https://h20392.www2.hpe.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=Z7550-63180As a workaround, change the baseline setting to "Managed Manually" and change the baseline back to the desired Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) in the server profile.RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HPE Subscriber's Choice.
