When configuring a static trunk on the HPE Synergy 40Gb F8 Switch Module and first adding the port as "On", the port mode will be set to LACP "Passive" instead of "On" as in the example below: Switch(config)# int twentyGigE 0/1/2 Switch(config-if)# channel-group 10 mode on Sh run: interface TwentyGigE0/1/2channel-group 10 mode passive If the same command is reissued, it will correctly set and reflect the configuration as "On": Switch(config)# int twentyGigE 0/1/2 Switch(config-if)# channel-group 10 mode on interface TwentyGigE0/1/2channel-group 10 mode on
Any HPE Synergy 40Gb F8 Switch Module with firmware 1.3.0 (or earlier).
Reissue the same command to properly set the port mode to "On." This issue has been resolved in firmware version 1.3.1 for the HPE Synergy 40Gb F8 Switch Module and is available for download through the HPE Support Center following the steps below: 1. Click the following link: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home 2. Enter a product name (e.g., "Synergy 40Gb F8 Switch Module") in the text search field and wait for a list of products to populate. From the products displayed, identify the desired product and click on the Drivers & software icon to the right of the product. 3. From the Drivers & software dropdown menus on the left side of the page: a. Select the Software Type - (Firmware) b. Select the Software Sub Type - (Switch) 4. Select the latest release of * RECOMMENDED * HPE Synergy 40Gb F8 Switch Module Firmware Package Version 1.3.1 (or later ). Note: To ensure the latest version will be downloaded, click on the Revision History tab to check if a new version of the firmware is available. 5. Click Download. For the latest Synergy releases, visit www.hpe.com/downloads/synergy . NOTE: Products sold prior to the November 1, 2015 separation of Hewlett-Packard Company into Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company and HP Inc. may have older product names and model numbers that differ from current models.
