Installation Failure of Block Volume Protection Engine The installSPP.sh script aborts while attempting to install the Block Volume Data Manager (BVDM) Agent Docker image on a fresh PPDM 19.22.0-16 installation on RHEL 9.6. For machine-readable output, please use --format. d162c993fa16 The repository is displayed as dpd/vproxy/bvdm-agent: 19.22-24 rather than separate repository and tag fields. The version tag is not passed correctly, leading to the “No such image” error.
Incorrect Docker Image Tagging Prevents BVDM Agent Installation. During the installation of the Block Volume Protection Engine on RHEL 9.6, the installSPP.sh script attempts to load the BVDM Agent Docker image. It uses a tag derived from the image ID (dpd/vproxy/bvdm-agent:$version) . In this environment, the Docker repository shows "dpd/vproxy/bvdm-agent:19.22-24" instead of a separate repository and tag "dpd/vproxy/bvdm-agent 19.22-24." Because of this, the script does not pass the $version correctly, resulting in a “No such image” error.
This issue is fixed in the upcoming release. Contact Dell Support for the workaround by modifying the installSPP.sh script to complete the installation.
