Connecting a Dell dock or monitor to a Dell Pro Max 16 MC16250 laptop with a USB Type-C cable while the laptop is turned off causes all docked devices to stop working after it turns on. Monitors display no video and peripherals such as an external keyboard, mouse, or USB devices do not function. Affected Platforms: Dell Pro Max 16 MC16250
A power delivery (PD) firmware issue causes this issue.
Note: Before starting the update, perform the following: Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery . Connect the AC adapter. Updating the BIOS to version 1.11.0 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the BIOS Update Guide .
