The AC adapters power light LED on the barrel connector is turning on when connected to an Alienware laptop. The laptop is turned off, and the AC adapter power cable is not plugged to mains power. Affected Platforms: Alienware 16 Aurora AC16250 Alienware 16X Aurora AC16251
By design the LED turns on when the AC In detect comparator triggers. The AC In detect comparator mistriggers when the laptop battery has over a 90 percent charge and the battery power leaks to the AC In path.
The laptop and AC adapter are both operating as designed. This does not damage the equipment and has no impact on the laptop or the AC adapters function and performance.
