In the VxRail Plugin Updates tab, when we click Update, the Update wizard reports the following after entering accurate credentials: No obvious failure/error is seen in the GUI. The /var/log/mystic/lcm-web.log on VxRail Manager will report the following (date/time stamps will differ): 2025-11-13T15:27:57.676Z <cd921a8751c5b3d65f404221afc2ed10> surrogate [ERROR] <255> LCMUtilService.java managementAccountValidate() (1050): Management account username cannot be the same as administrator username: administrator@vsphere.local.
The vCenter management account for VxRail Manager and ESXi management account for the hosts are using the administrator@vsphere.local username.
Change the vCenter and/or ESXi management account username(s) to something other than administrator@vsphere.local For creation of a new vCenter management account, reference: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/000216302 If you must create a new ESXi management account, login to the ESXi web UI (https://ESXiHostIP), as root. Navigate to Manage > Security & users > Users > Add user > set username and password. Right-click the Host in the top-left > Click Permissions Click Add user > search for your newly created ESXi management account > change Role to Administrator > click Add user.
