Latitude 7350, 7450, and 7650 laptops intermittently stop responding with an on-screen error after updating to BIOS version 1.12.3 or newer. The on-screen error is across a wide range of stop codes. They include but are not limited to the following: "0x00020001 HYPERVISOR_ERROR" "0x0000001A MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" "0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" "0x0000007E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" "0x0000003B SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" "0x0000013A KERNAL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION" "0x000001CA SYNTHETIC_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT" "0x000000D1 DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" "0x00000139 KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE" "0x00000189 BAD_OBJECT_HEADER" "0x00000050 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" Affected Platforms: Latitude 7350 Latitude 7450 Latitude 7650
An error was introduced in recent BIOS updates.
If the laptop does not respond, use the following recovery steps to get to a point where the BIOS can be updated. Recovery Steps: BIOS Real-Time_Clock (RTC) Reset Procedure How to Reset the Real-Time Clock to Recover Your Dell Laptop Performing a BIOS RTC reset alleviates the issue. The recommended steps are: Turn off the laptop. Ensure that the laptop is shut down and the AC adapter is connected. Initiate the RTC reset by pressing and holding the power button down for 25 seconds. After 25 seconds, confirm the reset when the charging Light Emitting Diode (LED) flashes white twice before releasing the power button. Switch to the standard Blue Screen troubleshooting guide for further guidance if the RTC reset does not alleviate the issue. Note: Before starting the update, perform the following: Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to: Back Up and Recovery Connect the AC adapter to mains power. Latitude 7350: The engineering department is working on a fix to be released in the Latitude 7350 BIOS version 1.23.0 and later. The updated BIOS is posted to the laptop's support page once it is made available. BIOS version 1.23.0 is expected to be released on June 09, 2026. Latitude 7450 and 7650: Updating the Dell Latitude 7450 and 7650 System BIOS to version 1.19.2 or later on the laptop resolves the issue.
