Updating the firmware from within the Operating System (OS) fails and reports the following: “This Update Package is not compatible with your system configuration.” Firmware updates performed through iDRAC may fail to complete, and the 'Install and Reboot' option may be absent iDRAC upload of the DUP file may succeed, but the update does not proceed.
The embedded ConnectX ASICs in B200/B300 GPUs interfere with the inventory collection process during firmware updates. This causes the Dell Update Package (DUP) to misidentify the server configuration and stop the update.
Use the manual update method recommended by NVIDIA: Download the updated DUP. Extract the DUP. Run the update manually: mlxfwmanager -u -D \\payload -y
