AIO desktop does not turn on correctly after sitting turned off for longer than 10 minutes Reports state that Dell Pro AIO desktops may not restart if left switched off for longer than 10 minutes. Once the desktop is off longer than 10 minutes, pressing the power button does not boot the desktop into the operating system. The power button LED is solid amber with nothing seen on the desktops screen. This affects the following Dell products: Dell Pro 24 All-in-One Plus QB24250 desktopDell Pro 24 All-in-One QC24250 desktopDell Pro 24 All-in-One QC24251 desktop
The Embedded Controller (EC) is not able to handle the Watch Dog Timer (WDT) interrupt. The EC does not switch to the internal clock, and this means that it cannot load code after it resets.
Recover the desktop to boot to the operating system and update the BIOS: Recovery Steps: Disconnect the AC adapter cable from the back of the AIO desktop Wait at least 10 seconds before plugging the adapter cable back in Press the power button on the desktop and it should boot Note: Administrator rights are required on the laptop to make any operating system changes or update any software. Update the BIOS to version 1.8.1 to resolve the issue.
