No sound is heard from the Dell Pro Plus Wireless ANC Headset WL5024 when connecting to an Android after updating the firmware to version 2.8.7. This happens when the Android phone has Bluetooth Low Energy Audio (LEA) enabled. This may be experienced on phones such as a Google Pixel 9, Samsung Galaxy S24, Sony Xperia 5, and more. If the phone has already been paired before, the headset has no sound. If pairing the headset for the first time, the headset gives an audio message of "one device connected" but then a disconnecting sound is heard. Affected Headset: Dell Pro Plus Wireless ANC Headset WL5024
An investigation is in progress.
Long-term solution Dell Engineering is aware of the issue and is working towards a resolution. This article will be updated once a resolution release date is known. Workaround Disable the LEA feature on the Android phone. For example, on a Samsung Galaxy S24, turn off LE Audio on the Bluetooth page. Note: The process to disable LEA differs between different phones. Refer to the phone manufacturer’s documentation for more information about how to disable LEA.
