The issue occurred because of an internal directory for VM pillar that was not cleaned up properly. VMware suggested a code fix, which can be tracked as part of spike PDM09I-429.
To resolve the issue with restoring individual disks to alternate VMs using NBDSSL, follow these steps: Disable encryption over wire in PPDM: Go to Settings > Security and disable backup/restore encryption. Perform restore using "nbd": Once encryption is disabled, you can run the restore using the "nbd" transport mode. Verification: To verify that the issue has been resolved, check the restore logs for successful completion and ensure that the VM is accessible. Important: If you are unsure about any of the steps or encounter any issues, contact Dell Support for assistance. Warning: Disabling encryption over wire in PPDM may have security implications. Ensure that you understand the risks and take the necessary precautions.
