Cyber Recovery analysis job is marked as Suspicious with the message: Job completed with errors. Job didn't complete indexing some of the backupsets. From the /opt/ie/var/ie_run.log on the CyberSense server, the following message is found: 2023/05/05 08:10:01 error: FI:7fcba17fe700:316:INDEXING_FAILURE: Mount failed for job 475, bkup time 1683133431, host [vm_hostname], Avamar ddr backup [/opt/ie/var/mnt/dispatch/crawl_R1OXg6/cur/f13a02f4e61bbbd86aa6346a7817caa365d7b242/1D97DE13BE9F1AE/], image: [/opt/ie/var/mnt/dispatch/VMDK_1dmmWq/flat], off 1048576, sz 1073741824, err [ Failed to set up loopback device ]
The error "Failed to set up loopback device" means that either the filesystem of the host is not what CyberSense expected when being scanned or that the superblock of the filesystem is corrupted. This usually occurs when the backup runs without the host being quiesced or when there is a lot of disk activity going on at the time of the backup, so the superblock is in an inconsistent state.
Acknowledge the alert on Cyber Recovery and CyberSense. A successful quiesce of the VM before backups usually resolve this issue. Check the backup log to confirm that the host was quiesced successfully prior to the backup. Also, check the host backup time, backing up the host during periods of lower disk I/O activity helps to remediate this issue. Contact DELL Technical Support for further information.
