When upgrading the DPA Datastore Server on a Windows server to DPA 19.5 or 19.6, the upgrade may fail with the following popup error message: "Upgrade process returned error." Within the Datastore install log the following Error code is returned: -1073741515 Example below: [INFO] ---- Executing IACheckCPUCores ---- [INFO] setting $VAR_CPU_FOUND$:= (4) [INFO] Total CPU Cores : 4 [INFO] CHOSEN_INSTALL_SET = (DS) [INFO] setting $VAR_CPU_CHECK_ERROR$:= () [COMMAND EXIT CODE] FAILURE : -1073741515 The Datastore service will not start due to the installation failure. Note this will prevent the DPA Application server from successfully starting as well. Additionally the DPA Application server can not be upgraded until the Datastore server is successfully upgraded.
DPA 19.5 and 19.6 Datastore server includes PostgresSQL 13.1 which requires Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
Install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 to DPA Datastore server from following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=48145 Once installed the upgrade will complete normally. Note if a higher version of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio is installed, a pop up error may be returned stating a newer version of Visual Studio is already installed on this host. If this occurs, then the current version of Visual Studio will need to be uninstalled before installing Visual Studio 2015.
