Testing LDAP user authentication in DPA results in the test failing with the following error: Unable to authenticate user in LDAP server. In the server.log file, the following warning is found: 2021-09-27 10:53:00,395 DEBUG [com.emc.apollo.command.ldapconfig.LDAPAuthenticationStrategy] (Thread-60176) searchFilter is (sAMAccountName =testuser). base DN DC=dpa,DC=com 2021-09-27 10:53:00,410 WARN [com.emc.apollo.command.ldapconfig.LDAPAuthenticationStrategy] (Thread-60176) Error occurred while testing user authentication.: javax.naming.directory.InvalidSearchFilterException: invalid attribute description; remaining name 'DC=dpa,DC=com'
In the warning message, the highlighted text shows that there was a space character that is typed at the end of the sAMAccountName parameter in the 'Manage External Authentication' page in DPA interface.
In the DPA UI, open the User & Security > External Authentication page. Check the Identification Attribute field. Ensure that there are no spaces that are typed at the end of sAMAccountName . Contact Dell Technical Support for further assistance if the above solution does not address your issue.
