Document VersionRelease DateDetails206/19/2019Updated information in Resolution section110/01/2015Original document releaseIn some instances, on an HPE Moonshot system, ProLiant m710 and ProLiant m710p server cartridges may be unable to selectively link to HPE Moonshot Remote Control Administrator (mRCA) cartridges. This can occur because some cartridges may contain DIP switch settings that are in conflict with the enable/disable entries in the Moonshot iLO Chassis Manager and will not allow selective linking with the mRCA cartridge. On some cartridges, switch pins 1 and 5 were inadvertently left in the "ON" position at the factory. This has been corrected in currently shipping units, but on some systems, switches 1 and 5 may still be in the ON position. While this does not affect the overall operation of the system, these switch settings will cause a miscommunication between the cartridge and the iLO CM during a link to the mRCA.For additional information on mRCA cartridges, refer to the following URL:http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04616502.pdf
Any HPE ProLiant m710 or m710p Server Cartridge.
Set all DIP switches on the ProLiant m710 and ProLiant m710p cartridges to OFF as follows:1. Remove the chassis hood.2. Remove the ProLiant m710/m710p cartridges from the chassis. The cartridges are hot-plug and the chassis does not need to be powered down in order to perform this operation; however, it is recommended that the OS on the cartridges be shut down properly, if applicable.3. Locate the switch bank on the cartridge as noted in the below image.4. Move the switches to the OFF position, re-insert the Moonshot cartridge, and put the hood back on the chassis. There is one physical switch block with eight pins each. In the example below, switch pins 1 and 5 are set to ON. Set all the pins to OFF:RECEIVE PROACTIVE UPDATES: Receive support alerts (such as Customer Advisories), as well as updates on drivers, software, firmware, and customer replaceable components, proactively via e-mail through HP Subscriber's Choice.
