After applying HPE MR Gen10 Plus and HPE Gen11 controller firmware version 52.32.3-6333, the Persistent Spare setting changes from "Enabled" to "Disabled."NOTE: If the Persistent Spare setting is enabled, the replacement of a spare drive in the same slot will automatically configure the drive as a spare.For detailed information, refer to theConfiguring Spare settingssection in theHPE MR Gen10 Plus Controller User Guide:Configuring Spare settings | HPE MR Gen10 Plus Controller User Guide
This advisory applies to all HPE MR Controllers with Gen10 Plus and HPE Gen11 branding.
As a workaround,manually change the Persistent Spare setting to "Enabled" using either of the following methods:Option 1: From the RBSUPressF9. UnderSystem configuration, navigate toMR>Main Menu>Controller Management>Advanced Controller Properties>Spare, then manually change toEnable.Option 2: From the storcli64 CLIThe Persistent Spare is displayed by executing the following command:### storcli64 /cx show restorehotspareIt can be set by executing the following command:### storcli64 /cx set restorehotspare=on or offVerify the setting is changed by executing the following command:storcli64 /cx show restorehotspareThis issue will be resolved in a future HPE Gen10 Plus and HPE Gen11 MR controller firmware release. This document will be updated when more information is available.
