HPE has identified an issue where certain SimpliVity 380 Gen11 nodes may become unresponsive during POST due to a known BIOS issue. To mitigate this, the BIOS attribute "MemClearWarmReset" has been disabled for currently shipping SimpliVity 380 Gen11 nodes. This change is temporary and will be reversed once a new BIOS is available.Until the new BIOS is available, "MemClearWarmReset" will remain disabled in SimpliVity shipments. After the new BIOS is released, the attribute will be re-enabled for factory shipments.
In the scenario described above, any HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen11.
Customer Impact:The SimpliVity software health check plug-in expects "MemClearWarmReset" to be enabled. As a result, customers will see an alarm in vCenter (for SVT ESXi setups) and in the VME UI (for SVT VME setups) indicating that the attribute is disabled. This alarm can be safely ignored. It does not indicate a functional issue with the system.Resolution Plan:A future BIOS release will address the issue.Once the new BIOS is available, HPE will re-enable "MemClearWarmReset" in new factory shipments. When the new BIOS is installed, customers may manually enable the setting.Action Required:No immediate action is required from customers. Ignore alarms related to "MemClearWarmReset" until further notice.
