On an HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen11, HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen11, or HPE MicroServer Gen11 systems, during a BIOS/SPP firmware update, any of the following may occur:The system may fail to boot or restart properlyThe System ROM update may not complete successfullyError Code 3019 may appear on bootThis typically occurs because the updated System ROM (BIOS) version is not compatible with the currently installed SPP version, or because the System ROM version on the server is too old to support the new SPP being applied.
Any HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen11 Server, HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen11 Server or HPE MicroServer Gen11 Server.
If this issue occurs, install the following SPS Recovery image to resolve it:https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_8af2b97e717a4866926602cc55&swCollectionId=MTX-3276f6309eed462aTo avoid this problem in the future, make sure to check the SPS version on the system before installing an updated System ROM. The compatible versions can be found directly in the Important Notes section of the release notes on the System ROM download page; for example:https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swCollectionId=MTX-8e60a05414d04e43#tab4It is strongly recommended that when updating firmware, to update all firmware components to the latest versions together to prevent compatibility issues.
