Refreshing server hardware in HPE OneView may sometimes cause the HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) on that server to be rebooted (or reset). This will temporarily make the iLO unreachable from HPE OneView, which may result in existing firmware update tasks running against iLO to fail.A server refresh occurring will also reset the iLO, and if an iLO firmware is being updated, this will cause the firmware update to fail. The following types of firmware update tasks will be affected when this issue occurs:A firmware update using a server profileA firmware update from a Logical Enclosure (LE)Below is an example of the alert message that will be seen due to this issue:"Update to communicate with the management processor for server hardware"
HPE OneView 10.20 or earlier versions that manage HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) or Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7).
Re-initiate the firmware update task. Since the iLO firmware has already been applied, the firmware update task will not update the iLO again. Any pending firmware components will be updated, and the alert will be cleared. The issue will be fixed in a future release of HPE OneView. This advisory will be updated when more information is available.
