For any HPE Virtual Connect modules for Synergy listed in the Scope section below, a continuous link toggle may occur due to unexpected hardware or firmware issues. As a result, an unexpected reboot or a transient outage may occur. To address this issue, HPE OneView introduced a feature called Port flap protection (link fault monitoring); however, this feature is disabled by default.
In the scenario described above, HPE OneView managing Logical Interconnects configured with either of the following:HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for Synergy running firmware version 2.2.0 (or later).HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for Synergy running firmware version 1.7.0 (or later).
A future Synergy software release will enable Port flap protection by default. This advisory will be updated when additional solutions become available. As a workaround, perform the following steps:Open OneView UI.Go to the Logical Interconnect page.Set Port flap protection to "Detect and disable ports", and set Port flap threshold per interval to 10.Additional information can be found at the link shown below.HPE OneView User Guide for HPE Synergy
