IT operations scripts or SSH sessions fail when attempting to use an HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7) Virtual Serial Port (VSP) input session.Without the VSP serial port input session, IT operations will no longer be able to perform remote troubleshooting and management.VSP will initiate the Virtual Serial port log playback.Configuring the HPE iLO 7 Virtual Serial Port (VSP) via the Command Line Interface (CLI) requires the following steps that access the iLO 7 CLI and initiate the VSP session:1.Accessing the iLO 7 CLI:SSH Connection: The most common method is to establish an SSH connection to the iLO IP address using a client like PuTTY or a terminal emulator as follows:ssh Administrator@<iLO_IP_Address>Replace <iLO_IP_Address> with the actual IP address of iLO.2. Initiating the Virtual Serial Port Session:Once connected to the iLO CLI, at the hpiLO-> prompt, use the VSP command to start the virtual serial port:VSPiLO will then attempt to establish a connection to the server's serial console. If the operating system on the server is configured to utilize the virtual serial port (e.g., for a serial console or debugging), the output from the server console will be displayed.3. Exiting the VSP Session:To return to the iLO CLI prompt from the VSP session, press ESC followed by (.
