When using the HPE Synergy Console to establish a serial console connection to any HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute module, the connection process will remain at the following message:"Connecting to bay <bay number> ..."This issue will occur when running iLO 7 firmware version 1.16.00, and after performing a reset to factory default settings. As a result, the default value for the Virtual Serial Port (VSP) configuration setting in iLO 7 will be changed to disabled.
In the scenario described above, any HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 compute module running iLO 7 firmware version 1.16.00.
A future iLO 7 firmware version will avoid this issue. This advisory will be updated when additional solutions become available.As a workaround, perform the following steps to manually enable VSP:Log into the iLO 7 web console.Under iLO settings, select Access, and click the Pencil (edit) icon for Virtual Serial Port.Check the "View Log" option, and select Update to save changes.
