On an HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen11 server, the Inlet Ambient temperature may incorrectly report a minus Celsius degree in the iLO GUI:iLO> Power&Thermal> Temperatures> 01-Inlet Ambient shows a minus degree Celsius.This will occur if the Smart Array backup power cabling is incorrect.
Any HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen11 Server configured with any Smart Array controller.
To correct this issue, perform the following:1. Power off the server2. Remove the top cover3. Check where the Smart Array backup power cable plugs in. There are two identical connectors on the motherboard. The correct connector for the ProLiant DL20 Gen11 Smart Array backup power cable is the connector circled in green in the graphic below. The connector circled in red below is the incorrect connector.Plug the Smart Array backup power cable into the correct connector:Reference the following:System board components | HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen11 Server User GuideThe green port is item 2, "Storage controller backup power connector."The ProLiant DL20 Gen11 and MicroServer Gen11 leverage the same motherboard.
