After moving an HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter to another slot in an HPE Synergy 480 Gen11/Gen12 Compute Module, OneView may not allow a server profile to be assigned on the server. The following error message may appear when attempting to assign the server profile:"Unable to create server profile."This occurs because OneView is populating incorrect data for the Server Hardware Type when the server is added to the enclosure. The issue only occurs when the server was previously present in the enclosure and an adapter was moved to a different slot where a card had not been present before.
HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 Compute Module or HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module with the HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter and managed by HPE OneView.
As a workaround, perform the following steps to recover the server:Note: Take notice of the Server Hardware Type affected and attached to the compute module:Perform an E-fuse reset of the server or remove the compute module from the slot.Delete the affected Server Hardware Type in OneView, found in "Servers > Server Hardware Types."Wait for the E-fuse reset to finish or physically insert the compute module back into the slot. The compute module should be added with a Server Hardware Type with correct data and allow setting a server profile. This issue will be fixed in a future release of HPE OneView. This advisory will be updated once new information is available.
