On any HPE platform configured with two of more of the HPE Broadcom-based network adapters listed in the Scope section below; performance issues may be experienced after updating the firmware of the network adapters to version 218.0.304000 (or later). This issue occurs when multiple physical links from different network adapters in a Link Aggregation Control Protocol bundle are configured. The issue was identified as a misconfiguration of the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) within the network adapter firmware while Virtual Edge Bridging (VEB) is enabled in the network adapter firmware (this feature enabled by default after firmware version 218.0.304000). The misconfiguration of the ASIC leads to incorrect handling of traffic with the same destination MAC address with and without Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) tags in a virtual switch environment, resulting in packets being dropped and causing performance issues.
