Description

Summary

The HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) management network port will not send ICMPv6 outer Solicitation (RS) when iLO network link goes down and comes back up. This is applicable for both Dedicated and Shared network ports.

Scope

Any HPE ProLiant Gen11/Gen12 iLO 6-based server.

Resolution

Router Solicitation messages will be sent by iLO 6 only when iLO 6 is bringing up its interfaces during iLO 6 boot. RS messages will not be sent when iLO 6 network link state changes. Router advertisement messages will be honored by iLO 6 anytime iLO 6 is up and running.
