On an HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 with Integrated Lights-Out 7(iLO 7) and certain NVIDIA GPUs, the following can be observed on the Graphical User Interface (GUI) mode when running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 (or later):The GUI enters text mode during OS installationA black screen is observed after a system rebootWhen the black screen is observed, the system is still running with no GUI. To access the system, perform a remote login or change to another tty to access the system.Certain NVIDIA GPUs use the in-distribution nouveau driver, which is not compatible.
Any HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 with iLO 7 and NVIDIA GPUs listed below running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 (or later).Note: This occurs on iLO 7 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 (or later).The NVIDIA GPU adapters include:H100 NVLL4L40SRTX1000RTXA1000The NVIDIA GPU adapters released since 2025 (and later).
