Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 does not support AMD-specific deferred error handling. A deferred memory error may occur, causing a kernel panic and a system restart. In such cases, the Integrated Management Log (IML) will likely contain the following error records:DIMM Failure - Uncorrectable Memory Error (Processor 2, DIMM 7)Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception Extended Registers (Conf 0x00000025'000007EF, Ipid 0x00001096'00350F00, Synd 0x9A4A0000'0B800001, DeStat 0x84201000'0400011B, DeAddr 0x00000000'98972000 Misc1 0xD01C000001000000Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Processor 2, APIC ID 0x00000102, Bank 0x00000016, Status 0xD4203000'0400011B, Address 0x00000000'98972000, Misc 0xD0140000'01000000).Two indicators in the Integrated Management Log (IML) that the system encountered a memory Deferred Error:The DeStat and DeAddr displays in the IML logThe set of Bit44 of theDeStatinUncorrectable Machine Check ExceptionExtended Registers and the Bit44 of theStatusinUncorrectable Machine Check ExceptionThe error may be logged when the system encounters a DIMM error that hardware cannot correct. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10 does not recover gracefully, resulting in a system restart. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 (or later) is designed to recover gracefully from such errors.
