The HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter includes two thermal sensors, one sensor is located within the adapter processor and the other sensor is located on the airflow inlet side of the adapter. The internal sensor is displayed as "Mezz X", where "X" is the slot number. The adapter inlet sensor is displayed as "Mezz X inlet".In rare instances, the inlet sensor responsible for monitoring environmental temperature may become absent. For HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 Compute Modules, the inlet sensor may show absent in the iLO 6 "Power & Thermal - Temperature Information" menu. For HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Modules, the inlet sensor may show absent in the iLO 7 "Thermal and Cooling - Temperature" menu, as shown below.
In the scenario described above, the following computes modules configured with the 6310C Ethernet adapter:HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 Compute ModuleHPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module
The absence of the inlet sensor can be safely ignored.A future Synergy software release will avoid this issue. This advisory will be updated when additional solutions become available.
