When multiple HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 / Gen12 Compute Modules configured with an HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter (P64724-B21) attempt to connect simultaneously to a Storage system with NVMe drives via RDMA Over Converged Ethernet version 2 (RoCEv2); only one platform will be able to connect to the Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) drives. This means that multiple Synergy platforms will not be able to connect simultaneously to the NVMe drives. In rare cases when the command "nvme connect-all -t rdma -a [Storage System IP]" is executed to connect all available NVMe namespaces on the storage system, the error message "failed to write to /dev/nvme-fabrics:Input/output error" maybe found with above configuration.
Any HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 / Gen12 Compute Module configured with an HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter (P64724-B21) connected to a Storage system with NVMe drives via RDMA Over Converged Ethernet version 2 (RoCEv2).
As a workaround, use the command "nvme connect-all -t rdma -a [Storage System IP] -i 8" to specifically set the number of I/O queues to 8.This advisory will be updated when additional solutions become available.
