An HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 system with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7) is unable to change the Graphical User Interface (GUI) screen to a higher resolution or screen rotation when running a remote console.The in-distribution Matrox mgag200 driver does not contain the required IDs to support the VGA chip for the iLO 7 Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). The vgaarb driver will load in its place.
HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 with iLO 7 running any of the following Linux distributions:Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 (or later)SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP6Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
The following distribution kernel includes the patch:SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP6 kernel version 6.4.0-150600.23.42.2 (or later)HPE is working with the above Linux distributions to include an updated Matrox mgag200 driver. A future update of this advisory will document the supported OS versions that resolve this issue.
