The HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) Serial Port may enter an unresponsive state, requiring the removal of AC power to recover.In the example below, the Serial Port is unresponsive when using Putty. Attempts to end and restart the session will not recover the Serial Port. Removal of AC power is required (completely discharging any remaining power from the system):
Any HPE Gen11 or HPE Synergy Gen11 platforms with iLO 6.
To prevent this from occurring, change the Serial Command Line Interface Status to "Disabled" by performing either of the following:Reboot the system and press the designated key to enter the UEFI System utilities (RBSU)Select iLO 6 Configuration UtilitySelect Setting OptionsChange the 'Serial CLI Status' option to 'Disabled'Select option F12: Save & ExitORIn the iLO 6 web interfaceSelect SecuritySelect Access SettingsChange the Serial Command Line Interface Status to DisableAs a workaround, perform an AC power-cycle. Removing the power cord from the power supply may be required.This advisory will be updated if additional solutions become available.
