On any HPE Server with the HPE Custom ESXi 8.0 U2 or 8.0 U3 Image installed, creating an Image using the ESXi 8.0 U2 Vendor Add-on or 8.0 U3 v11.9.0 Add-On (or older), and the Service Pack for ProLiant 2025.03.00.00.802 Firmware and Drivers Add-on via vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM), validating the Image will result in a warning message regarding removing an obsolete component to resolve the problem, as shown below even though the Image validation succeeded:This is due to the fc-enablement component included in the latest HPE ESXi 8.0 U2 Vendor Add-On and 8.0 U3 v11.9.0 (or older) Vendor Add-On that has been removed in the Service Pack for ProLiant 2025.03.00 and has been replaced with the Agentless Management Service deamon.
Any HPE server with the HPE Custom ESXi 8.0 U2 or 8.0 U3 Image installed that is being updated with the HPE ESXi 8.0 U2 Vendor Add-On or 8.0 U3 v11.9.0 Add-On (or older), and Service Pack for ProLiant 2025.03.00.00.802 (or newer) Firmware and Drivers Add-On via vSphere Lifecycle Manager.
This is working as designed since the default vLCM behavior when a component in the Vendor Add-On is obsolete and replaced with another in a newer Firmware and Driver Add-On.The above message is only a warning and does not affect the validity of the image. Remediating the host with the defined image above will be successful and the obsoleted component will no longer be seen on the host after remediation as expected. The instruction to remove the obsolete component to resolve the problem in the warning message above can be ignored.
