For any HPE Synergy Gen10 or Gen11 compute modules with HPE Synergy 5830C 32Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter (FC HBA) running firmware (MBI) version 2.00.01 or later, after a system reboot, the assigned World Wide Port Name (WWPN) IDs for the HPE Synergy 5830c 32Gb FC HBA may be incorrectly assigned between the two (2) physical ports. When this occurs, the "Mezzanine Slot 1" in the iLO may display the FC ports listed twice; "port1" mapped first to the correct WWPN, then again for the incorrect WWPN. This also occurs for "port2":As a result, there is a production impact where the SAN LUNs are not accessible because the incorrect FC ports are presented to the wrong target paths in the SAN environment. When the profile is re-applied, or the profile is unassigned then assigned, the LUNs are accessible again and remain accessible, even after further reboots. However, the duplicate/incorrect entries in the iLO are still present. This is due to a known adapter firmware issue encountered at adapter initialization.
This issue is observed on HPE Synergy Gen10 or Gen11 compute modules with the HPE Synergy 5830C 32Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter running firmware (MBI) version 2.00.01 or later.
